I have Recently been informed by a very well know & Reputable Dealer dealing in Georgian & Early Victorian Jewellery that "This locket is amazing, I thought that you should know that the piece inside the locket with the seal is a first class relic. I believe it is St.Aloisicius. It is rare to find a relic with a papal seal, and it increases it's value. The hair is likely the hair of a relation of the original owner."
This Genuine Early 19th Century Solid Silver Locket...Circa 1830-1840 is A Lovely Quality Georgian Oval Locket. It is Decorated with Early Floral Engraving & a "Prick-Work" Engraved Edge Rim. It has an Elaborate Entwined Monogram on one side, probably belonging to the Original Owner. The Front Cover Slides off to reveal an Inner Silver Frame which is Glazed and Houses an Old Wax Seal, Along with a Lock of Hair which is still in Perfect Condition. There is an Integral Silver Bale Ring to Attach to a Chain. This Age Locket is Rarely Hallmarked, BUT This One has a small Hallmark on Two of the Sections, Which Looks to be a "Crossed Keys" Stamp, and leads me to believe this may well be French in Origin. The Condition is Good and Ready to be Worn. No Nasty Dings or Dents, it still has the Original Interior Oval Glass and the Wax Seal is Undamaged. A Beautiful Genuine Antique. Measures approx 1.45 " x 1" & is 0.25" deep. This will be shipped 1st class registered mail. Please feel free to email me with any questions & Thank You for visiting.
