Royal Albert English Bone China Tea Set - Blue Flowers on White - Ca. 1970's
I love blue flowers on white dishes. If I collected tea sets I would definitely keep this one. Another beautiful Royal Albert set in fine condition. No chips dings, stains, discolorations, cracks, or scratches. The Pattern name or number is hard to pin down on this one. A popular china matching service is identifying this set as Pattern ROA294 with no name. I also found this set on a web site consisting of hundreds of other Royal Albert patterns that have patterns that are named and ones that have no names. If your interest is Royal Albert I can give you the site name in an email.
The shape makes a difference too. This footed cup is the Gainsborough Shape. If you are trying to match a tea set to a dinnerware set, details do matter. Here are some details about the Gainsborough Shape. This cup and saucer have scallops all around, the saucer has twelve and the cup has eight. Each scallop is also ribbed with seven to nine ribs on each scallop. The saucer has the ribs on the surface and the cups ribs are on the out side of the cups. The cup features what is called a broken loop handle which is a nice touch. The fancy handle is not broken or damaged, that is just what that style of handle is called.
Measurements: Cup is just shy of 3" Tall, The diameter at the top is 3-5/8". The footed base is 1-7/8". The saucer is 5-5/8" diameter.
This is ready to go. Tea sets make great gifts.
Thanks for looking, enjoy your day, and don't let this one get away.
