Vintage Royal Chelsea Bone China Tea Set Pattern #3881A - Cup and Saucer - Ca. 1950's 1960's
Offering a lovely cup and saucer tea set from the Royal Chelsea Company in England. I don't know if this has a pattern name but I am certain number 3881A is the correct pattern number. The number is incised into the cup bottom along the inside of the foot. It is a very pale gray and is very small and difficult to read but I have seen other pieces of this pattern on the internet with the number boldly marked in ink. The main flowers look like wild roses to me. The cup features what is called a broken loop handle which is a nice touch. The fancy handle is not broken or damaged, that is just what that style of handle is called. The cup and saucer is gently scalloped all around he outside edges.
There is no damage to the cup or saucer, no stains, scratches, dings, chips, cracks, and no loss of the gold trim. Just pretty pink, white, and yellow flowers.
The cup is 2-1/2" Tall at the rim, 2-3/4" to the top of the handle. The cup diameter is 3-3/4" OD and the foot is 1-11/16" OD. The saucer measures 5-3/8" OD.
This is ready to go.
Thanks for looking, enjoy your day, and don't let this one get away.
