SALE - SAVE 20% - Offering a Lovely Vintage - Relpo Lady Planter Vase - Figurine #5929 for your consideration. Ca, 1960's.
Finely dressed for a summer garden party in her pretty pink frock and white hat, she is ready to go. This pretty lady is pristine, no damage in sight, not even any crazing and clean, in and out. The lady might have a name but I don't know what it is. I think I will call her Thelma Lou as I think I see a resemblance to Thelma Lou, Barney Fife's long patient girlfriend. The Relpo number 5929 is incised into the bottom of the planter.
Relpo (Reliable Glassware and Pottery Company, Inc.) lady planters were made in Japan and imported by, Samson Import Company, Chicago. They are known for their high quality head vases and full length lady planters even though they ceased doing business in the 1970's. Their head vases and lady planters are highly collected today.
This girl is a tall one, topping out at 9-3/4". The width of her dress at its fullest is about 6-1/2"
A picture of one just like this one, only in dark blue, can be seen on Page 37 in, "The Collector's Guide to Lady Figurine Planters" by Pat & Keith Armes, Copyright 2000. I believe the #5929 lady was made in many colors. Wouldn't it be fun to collect them all.
