Offering Westmoreland's Della Robbia Line # 1058 Item #DR-43 Covered Candy Dish. Westmoreland calls it a "Chocolate Box". Westmoreland offered this item in two stains, a dark and a light. This is the light pastel stain. I believe this Pastel Stain is a bit more scarce than the dark stain.
Just a note about stains and flashing. Flashing is a thin layer of glass applied and then fired on. Staining is painted on and all of Westmoreland's Della Robbia pieces are stained, not flashed. Back in the day, stain was applied by hand decorators. It was very time consuming to make and finish American hand made glass. Westmoreland was a quality glass maker in the Elegant style.
Della Robbia was produced from the Depression Era, 1930's, to the 1970's.
CONDITION: Pre-Owned but there are no chips, nicks, stains, scratches or cracks. Free from damage other than some bottom wear on the raised polished rim. There is a slight amount of wear on the stained apples under the lid. It is only apparent on the apples and it is difficult to detect except in certain light.
