Very Vintage McKee Cut Glass #410 Innovation Line Square Vase
McKee Cut Glass #410 Innovation Line - Square Vase - With Saw Tooth Edge - The first picture with the blue background has been "enhanced" by Ruby Lane (as they do all pictures) and they cut most of the saw tooth edge ripples off. There is actually a saw tooth edge all the way around. If you look at my other pictures, you will see the ripples.
This beautiful old vase is truly a keeper. First introduced in 1916, it was only made until the mid 1920's. Design #410 was the first of the Innovation line to be made, followed by many other cut designs, into the 1920's. The #410 floral design doesn't have a pattern name that I know of. Consisting of long polished cut stems and flowing leaves accented with wheel cut eight-petal gray cut flowers, so the centers have an eight-pointed star on each flower. The top of the vase is accented with a four-sided cane top saw tooth edge. The Design Patent 50,950 was granted to M. A. Smith on April 10, 1917. Maurice A. Smith was at the time, the Vice-President of McKee Glass Company and his father, Andrew J. Smith was President.
This 10 inch vase is in great condition. I don't find any damage, no chips, not even minor nicks from age or any scratches or cracks. There is light fine bottom wear which is age appropriate. There are some small bubbles in the thick glass. I have pointed out the main ones only on one side of the vase. None of the bubbles are broken through. Bubbles are from the manufacturing and gives the old glass personality in my opinion.
Size: 10" Tall..........3-1/8" X 3-1/8" Square bottom. The flared cane top measures 3-7/8" X 3-7/8" Square. It is a heavy weight, weighing in at 3 pounds 11 ounces.
