SAVE 20% - Mid-Century Bartlett-Collins Hand Painted White Flower Salt and Pepper Shakers
This is a lovely set of shakers. I believe these were manufactured by Bartlett-Collins Company in Sapulpa, OK. In my research I found a reproduced catalog page in "The Decorated Tumbler" book, authored by Hazel Marie Weatherman. There is a 1949 - 1950 page showing the Bell Flower pattern on a beverage set. It is very much like the pattern on these shakers and I know Bartlett-Collins made other matching pieces to some of their other decorated beverage sets. Also, in researching other venues, I found information that Bartlett-Collins decorated their own wares using in house decorating. Many people believe these were decorated by Gay Fad Studios and if there is reliable written evidence of this, I would love to know.
In any case the decoration is pristine and the lids are in fine shape too. There is one tiny flake on the inner rim of one of the shakers, where there is a mold seam. (Pictured much enlarged) The spot measures 1/8" X 1/16" and it is shallow and under the lid. There are no other issues, No cracks, cloudiness, scratches, or chips. The decoration is in such great condition, I can't tell if the paint is fired on or cold painted. These were an estate find and it is likely they were stored and never used for the last 50 or 60 years.
SIZE: 3-1/2" Tall w/lids X 1-3/4" Wide
