Very Vintage Fostoria #1485 Colonial 8" Candlestick Etch "B"
Beautiful crystal Colonial candlestick made by Fostoria Glass Company first from 1906 - 1925 and again in 1928, The last time this was produced was 1933 - 1938. Other than the pattern number 1485 and the Colonial shape this piece does not have a name. The Etch is just called "B". The top of the candle bowl is ground and polished. This finishing touch is another sign of quality hand made glass of which Fostoria was famous.
This is the 8" size with a 4" base. It was also manufactured in an 11" and a 6-1/2" size which are shown on Page 97 in "Fostoria, Its First 50 Years" authored and published by Hazel Marie Weatherman in 1972. Other etches and cutting were also used. This Etch B is a dainty one and would look great on any table or Mantle.
CONDITION: Free from any damage, no nicks, chips, cracks, stains, or scratches. Slight amount of bottom wear just on the points as the bottom is slightly concave. Just first quality.
