Antique Copeland - Spode - Tiny Cream on Blue Creamer Fox Hunting Pattern, Dogs, Horses, Hunters, Horsemen
All pictures are super enlarged to show detail. See pictures.
This little Sprigware jug is a sure winner. Extra nice piece of blue jasper ware with buff colored or cream Laurel trim and details of the Fox Hunting scene.
The condition is near perfect as manufactured C.1900. Totally free of any damage and minimal wear on bottom if any. The outside is clear of any stains, scratches, or flaws. The inside is clean as a whistle and very glossy as it should be. I'm sure you won't find a better one of this age and size.
The size on this is 3-3/4" Tall X 1-5/8" Opening. Base is 2-1/2" Across. It will hold about four ounces. I am not sure if this is the tiniest jug of the Fox Hunting series or not. I did not find any other this small when I researched this piece. I believe it is either an individual creamer or perhaps a child's jug but I didn't find any definite information to its usage. It would not surprise if this were a scarce piece of Copeland-Spode pottery.
The bottom is both stamped and impressed. The stamp is Copeland, Spode, England, and the impression is Copeland England, and the number 42. (see picture)
This is ready for your table or to display in your collection.
