Posselt Kristall - Buhl Germany - Cut Glass Decanter Set - Liquor Set
What a beauty this is! I inquired about this lovely set to Beatrix Posselt, Managing Director of Posselt-Kristall. I was told this set was manufactured from about 1979 to 1983, and that it is a very rare version of Crystal-Glas-Production and is no longer being made. It is called Regenbogen which is German for Rainbow. Very appropriate name!
Posselt-Kristall was founded in 1898, and is a family owned company in Buhl, Germany. They are still in business as Bruno Posselt GmbH & Co. KG., producing beautiful decanters and premium perfume bottles out of mouth blown and hand cut crystal. Posselt-Kristall also produces customized bottles in small quantities. They have a different logo now but it is the same company. The older acid mark shown here on the bottom of my decanter also looks like it could be Posseil but it is not. It is definitely Posselt with the oval standing in for the P and the top of the T. I have seen quite a few listings for the same company as "Posseil". Be sure to look for both names in a search.
CONDITION: When this set was originally made it had one bottle and six glasses. I am offering this set just the way I acquired it and it is being shown, with four glasses. The stopper has two small nibbles at one point on the end. (shown much enlarged) I don't see any other issues, no chips, cracks, cloudiness, stains, or scratches.
The rainbow coloring on this crystal set is actually part of the inside of the glass.
The signature "K. Wilhelm" is the Master Craftsman who did the cutting on this bottle.
SIZE: Shots 2-3/4" Tall X 1-3/4" OD at rim. Bottle approximately 6-1/8" Tall without the stopper and a little over 9" Tall with the stopper.
The set is quite heavy at 4.5 lbs before packaging.
This is an outstanding Liqueur set and it displays beautifully. Be the envy of all your friends with this one!
