Vintage Fostoria Glass Company, Stemmed Gold Windsor Tall Candy Jar #2749-386 Chalice With Cover - From the "Crowns-in-Crystal" Collection.
I do not see or feel any damage. No chips, nicks, cracks, stains, or scratches. There is only a very slight amount of bottom wear. This was taken great care of. What a statement this piece makes!
SIZE: 9" tall including lid, 5-1/4" diameter.
This gorgeous crystal jar was manufactured, ca. 1961-1965, as described and pictured in the Crown Collection section, pages 247 through 249, in "Fostoria Tableware, 1944-1986" authored by Milbra Long & Emily Seate. Copyright 1999.
Fostoria called this color "Gold" and it is. What an eye-popping hue. I have tried to capture this brilliant color in my pictures. I hope I have as this gorgeous color is eye candy for sure.
This lovely "Chalice" with the cover can stand out as a candy jar, nut jar, centerpiece, or just hanging out on your mantel. It will look great no matter where you show it off.
Fostoria Glass Company manufactured four different "Crown" styles in their Crowns-in-Crystal Collection. The one I am offering is the Windsor Crown, and then there is the Hapsburg, the Navarre, and the Luxemburg. They were all offered sometime during the years 1961-1965, in substantial elegant crystal glass that Fostoria is known for. This covered jar weighs in at 2 pounds and 10 ounces without the packaging.
I had a Ruby Red candy jar, just like his one, but it has already sold.
I currently have listed the Luxemburg Crown, Ruby Red crystal candle bowl too.
Thanks for looking, enjoy your day and don't let this one get away!
