SALE SAVE 25% - Jefferson Glass Jewel and Fan Banana Boat Dish ~ Green Opalescent
This is a beautiful green opalescent edged oval bowl made by Jefferson Glass Co., around 1904. The pattern is called Jewel and Fan #125. There are no chips, nicks, bites, or scratches. There are some inclusions (straw marks) which is normal for antique glass. The size is 9" long X 4-1/2" wide. This shape is known as a banana dish.
Reference: One like this in blue is pictured on page 87 in "Standard Encyclopedia of Opalescent Glass, Fourth Edition" by Edwards and Carwile.
A WORD ABOUT GLASS: Most of the glass I sell is vintage and as such, shows characteristics of age, which may include allowable base wear, bubbles, pattern irregularities, straw marks (inclusions/cooling marks) or mold marks. Vintage glass is rarely perfect and these characteristics are normal. Old glass may also have ash, sand, or dirt specks embedded in the glass. All of these features are expected to occur in vintage glass. I will do my best to describe any chips, cracks or other damage that would impact the value of the item.
