I am pleased to offer for purchase a beautiful hand painted Limoges cruet. It is marked on the bottom LIMOGES, FRANCE, under the glaze, with the green mark designated as Mark #6 by Mary Frank Gaston on page 194 in her book, "The Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain". There is also a signature that reads, Donisthorpe. Donisthorpe is predominately a British name but I don't have information about who this particular Donisthorpe is. The painted roses are done in a soft romantic style. Very pretty.
I would date this cruet to about 1895.
The condition is superb, no nicks, chips, cracks, stains, or scratches.
The size is 6-1/4" tall with stopper in place and 3-1/2" wide.
