SALE - Vintage Oscar Schaller & Co. - Winterling~Bavaria~Porcelain~Covered Butter Dish~Dainty Floral Pattern
Offering this lovely vintage covered butter dish or perhaps a honey dish from a company long established in Bavaria, Germany. The dish has a soft off white colored body with tiny pink roses and tiny yellow and blue flowers plus a blue line circling the gently scalloped hash marked edge. (see close-ups) I haven't been able to find the exact pattern name or number. If any lookers know what it is I would be happy to know too.
Due to not knowing the pattern name I am showing close-ups of the tiny flowers in case someone needs a replacement or an addition to their dinnerware set.
Condition: Very good, there are no cracks, crazing, stains, utensil marks, or repairs. The bottom dish has three tiny spots along the butter receptacle top edge where the glaze is a little thin and one little place that looks to be a shallow glaze pop, size 1/16". I have used a loupé to check it out and it doesn't appear to be a nick. No other issues found and I don't believe it was ever used.
Size: Bottom Piece, 6-1/2" across the bottom and a 3-1/2" opening. Lid, 4-5/8" OD. Whole unit about 3-1/4" tall.
Age: Bottom mark indicates this dish was manufactured between 1921-1935. Oscar Schaller & Co. located in Schwarzenbach (Bavaria), became a branch of the Gebrüder Winterling O.H.G. in Röslau (Bavaria) in 1917.
This will make a nice addition to your dinnerware or butter dish collection.
Thanks for looking, enjoy your day.
