This is a wonderful & harder to find Simon Halbig Baby Blanche and is a fine example of the craftsmanship of that prestigious company. She comes along with her 4th Place UFDC Regional ribbon for 1999. This ribbon winner stands about 22-23 inches tall, with beautiful brown glass sleep eyes & their wax, expert painting of the lashes and molded feathered brows. She has an open outlined mouth with teeth and pierced ears (no earrings). Her bisque is a lovely creamy bisque with delicate coloring. She is marked S & H Baby Blanche. There are no hairlines or repairs to this pretty girl, but she does have a piece missing from the inside rim. She has some glue residue, along with some strands of hair still attached to the glue residue, but all is covered by her beautiful wig. There is a pour ridge on the back of her head (completely in the making) & would not be considered damage. This beauty is on her original very nice fully jointed composition body with it's original finish. There is some age wear to the surface finish and an area on her buttocks where there is an indent. All in all, this is a good heavy body. She is wearing possibly her original white cotton antique dress with beautiful lace at the wide collar. She has antique underwear, socks & boots. She wears a pink bow in her hair & waist. Her lovely long brown human hair wig is a quality replacement, with some flyaways & has a replaced cardboard pate. She is a really quite beautiful girl, with the creamy bisque. She does have a cheek rub, but it certainly does not detract from her beauty! Circa 1890.
