This girl is absolutely charming & display ready! I'm not a doll expert, but purchased her from a doll expert, so will describe her the best that I can, with information that I was given on the doll. This darling girl was made by SFBJ and is a wonderful example of their French Bebe! This French child stands about 17 1/2 inches tall, with HUGE blue set glass eyes, which have been reset, expert painting of lashes and feathered brows. She has a darling open mouth with teeth. Her bisque is lovely with very pretty coloring. She is marked "24 FRANCE SFBJ 60 PARIS." There are no repairs to her head, other than the resetting of the eyes. She does have a very faint 1" long hairline or baking line from the rim of her right hand side. This is so faint, that it was most likely in the making. There is a baking or paint line under her left eye, again very faint and in the making. She has a ridge & line on the back of her head, which is also in the making, as you can see the paint in this ridge & line. These are common in SFBJ dolls. When I highlited her head, it looked like there were 2 hairlines in the back right hand side, but when I looked at the back of the head, these are most likely mold lines. If you ENLARGE the picture of the back of the head, you can see these lines on the back right hand side of her head. She has a tiny white dot on her nose & left cheek. These are all minor issues & are all most likely in the making of the head. She is on a wonderful fully jointed SFBJ composition body with it's original finish. There is some repair & flaking to her hands. All in all, it is in good condition with a bit of age wear around her joints & mainly to her hands. She is wearing a beautiful replacement white cotton antique style dress, antique bonnet, vintage/antique pink shoes & socks & underwear. She has a stunning replaced mohair wig, that is worth it's weight in gold by itself & a replaced cardboard pate. I know that I've described what appears to be a lot of damage, but most likely all was in the making & not really considered damage, at least this is what I was told. Please enlarge the photos & ask any questions & I will answer as best that I can.
