What a find! A rare lighthouse candle lantern in remarkable condition. This lantern has it all. Old green alligator skin paint, mica panes, embossed anchors and a red bulls eye lens. What more could you ask for? This one is to die for. I doubt you will ever find another one.
The condition is incredible with absolutely no issues to speak of. The mica lenses are perfect with no cracks or splits, amazing on it’s own. The bulls eye lens is also perfect. The door works great. The candle socket is peened through the bottom. The carry handle and heat reflector are solid. They are painted black, original I’m sure. I believe the green was added early on, it is old! There is a red wash on the inside, perhaps to give the whole lantern a red glow. There is a vent above each of the mica panes, and each of those vents is embossed with an anchor. The lantern measures 14 ¾ inches high to the top of the handle, and has a 5 ¾ inch diameter.
This uncommon lantern will enhance any early lighting collection, and will be a focal point in any country or seaside cottage.
