This lovely old grape cluster brooch bears a faint Spanish hallmark for 915 grade silver on the back of one leaf. The Spanish mark is a star within a circle followed by a (partial) pentagram shape with numbers inside. I wasn't able to get a clear photo of this mark. The setting also tests positive for high grade silver content consistent with that grade. The grapes are represented by 10 faux pearls. Each grape leaf is prong set with a single paste stone in the center. The leaves have been given a natural texture and a purposefully darkened patina. The silver setting has a gold finish. The brooch has its original trombone style sliding catch and pin stem in good working condition.
The brooch measures 2.25" long by 1.125" wide. It weighs11 gr.
Condition is good. Patina is appropriate and should not be removed. The single pearl on the bottom has extra glue residue visible on the back.
This is a truly beautiful natural form brooch, very well designed and with nice weight - it is definitely a high quality piece of vintage jewelry.
