This antique marine shell bracelet dates from circa 1900 but presages the style of the Art Deco era in the striated diamond shape surmounted on a round base plaque. The bracelet is composed of 9 plain rectangular segments double strung on black elastic through the round centerpiece. The bracelet has been tested and confirmed to be real natural shell material.
The bracelet will fit a small to medium wrist without leaving gaps stretched between the segments. The elastic is loose enough to accommodate a larger wrist size but would show gaps on a large wrist size. The round center piece measures 1.5" in diameter. The rectangular segments are each .75" wide by .625" across.
Condition: The elastic is a little loose for my taste but can easily be tightened if desired. There is a small split in the back of one of the rectangular segments near the center piece. This is stable and only visible from the underside.
The plain streamlined styling of this bracelet belies its age and makes it very wearable with more modern styles.
