This is a circa 1950s sterling silver modernist leaf brooch and earrings set made by designer Otto Robert Bade, and signed with his signature ORB. Otto Robert Bade was a silversmith and foreman at Rebajes Wearable Art, one of the top producers of jewelry in the 1940's and 50's! In the 1950's he started his own jewelry company, Orb Originals. This demi parure leaf and earring set is a prime example of his work. All pieces are marked Orb Sterling on the back. The earrings have comfortable clip backs. Each leaf has a twist of wire overlaid with a ball on one end. The leaf has an applied dark patina band alongside the wire.
The brooch weighs 13.6 gr. and the earrings together weigh 7.9 gr. The leaf brooch is 3" x 1.25". The earrings each measure 1.5" x .625"
Condition is good.
Though these are now 60+ years old, they are a classic streamlined modern style, and made with the care of an excellent craftsman and designer.
