This is a well crafted vintage American South Western sterling silver and turquoise stone cattails design brooches and earrings set. I believe that this set is native American Indian made but since there are no maker's markings I can't definitely identify it as such. The earrings are both marked sterling on the screw backs. The brooches are unmarked, but test positive for silver content of sterling grade. Each piece is in the form of 3 cattail stalks and leaves, rope bound at the base, and set with high grade turquoise stones of good color. Each cattail head is set with an oblong stone, plus 2 small round cabochons adorn the base.
This set has a combined weight of 13.7 gr. Each earring measures 1.125" tall by .5" across. Each brooch measures 1.5" tall x .75" across.
Condition is good.
This is an attractive and well made set of vintage sterling turquoise jewelry. They will fit right in with a South Western wardrobe. Great with jeans.
