This is a charming 18" tall German Rotkäppchen or Little Red Riding Hood doll made from painted cloth. Her cloth head has 7 seams up the back of the head plus a circular crown seam to give it shape. The front face of the head is molded cloth. The entire head is then stiffened and painted. The arms and legs are similarly treated. The hands have simple stitched lines to indicate fingers with the pointer finger and thumb extended. The toes on the feet are also defined by simple stitched lines. She is dressed in a green skirt with red hem trim, red apron, black top over a white blouse, floral print scarf, attached lace collar, and red cape. She probably had a hat and shoes originally.
Condition is over all good. Her clothes could use some pressing. There is some paint wear on her hair. Hat and shoes missing.
She is an unusual hand crafted vintage doll, probably dating from the same era as the early Kathe Kruse and Bing dolls.
