This fine vintage sterling silver brooch features a vividly enameled panel of a colorful metallic flower bouquet against a dark blue background. It is counter enameled on the back in a teal color. The brooch is unmarked but the setting tests positive for silver content of sterling grade. the border of the setting is a simple triple rim around the enamel work. The enamel is thick, with the flowers raised slightly above a flat surface. The back has its original pin stem with an old fashioned rabbit eared roll over safety catch.
This brooch weighs 16.8 gr. It measures 1.125" x 1.5" and is about .25" thick.
Condition is good. There is no enamel loss. The variation in color on the back is the way it was made.
This is really an unusual enamel. It looks as though colored metallic leaf was encased under the enamel of the flowers.
