This is a very large circa 1940s gold vermeil marked sterling bow brooch accented with clear and green rhinestones in the center. There are no maker's markings. It is marked only STERLING. The bow is formed from flat ribbon like bands of gold finished silver. Two ribbons curl off to one side. The center of the bow is set with a square emerald green glass stone, and a total of 6 clear baguettes on the sides. The back of the brooch has its original sturdy long pin stem an functional roll over safety clasp.
This brooch weighs 31.4 gr. It measures 3.75" across and up to 2.5" tall. The bow is dimensional and is up to .75" in depth.
Condition is over all good. There is some wear to the gold finish. It has not been polished. I think some of the clear rhinestone baguettes are replacements.
If you appreciate big bold brooches, then this one just might be the ticket for you. It is certainly a brooch with a lot of flair and impact.
