This is a 24 inch tall antique china head doll made by German company Alt Beck & Gottschalck circa 1880s, and is marked with ABG model number 1008 and size number 12 on the back of the shoulder plate. This doll has an antique cloth body with ABG china lower arms. The antique clothing consists of black stockings, cotton pantaloons and petticoat and a fine cotton nightgown with long vertical pleats and tiny mother of pearl buttons down the front.
Condition: No chips, cracks or repairs to the shoulder head. There are a couple of kiln specks - manufacturing defects, one on the doll's left cheek and another on the lower right side of the face. Please see photos. Also the left hand has a slight roughness to one finger tip that might be a very small chip. The antique clothing and body are sturdy but have a few age stains and wear spots.
This curly haired child doll is a sweet example in a large size.
