This is a fine big 25" tall antique circa 1860s German china head doll with flat top hair style, good commercially made antique body with china lower arms, and attractive antique clothing. She even comes with an antique sterling brooch pin in the shape of a key with flower garland. The shoulder head alone measures 7" tall, 7.25" across shoulders and 3" deep. She is unmarked but the head resembles doll heads made by Kister. Her antique clothing consists of white cotton chemise and petticoat, linen pantlettes, and cotton blue plaid dress with lace trim and mother of pearl buttons up the back. She also has nice socks of decorative knit.
Condition is overall good. I note that there is a slight rub through the glaze on the tip of her nose, and she has typical kiln specs here and there. No chips, cracks or repairs to the head, and only minimal hair wear in back. Antique china arms are in good condition. Petticoat is small in the waist so is likely an antique replacement. Dress cuffs need to be snugged up on wrists. Socks have small hole in one toe.
This is a fine example of a large Civil War era china head doll.
