This is an attractive circa 1940 vintage sterling and 14K brooch with moonstone flower buds or fruit, made by W. E. Richards Co. of North Attleboro, MA. The company began in 1900 and still exists. The Symmetallic mark was first used in 1936 up until at least 1946. This brooch is marked SYMMETALLIC STERLING + 14K on a small rectangular plaque on the back. It is sterling with a gold finish. The brooch is in the form of 3 bound stems with foliage and 3 triple clusters of oval moonstones. I don't know if the stones are glass or natural but this company frequently used both real and glass stones in their Symmetallic marked pieces. The back has a typical pin stem and roll over safety clasp.
The brooch weighs 11.7 gr. It measures 2" x 2.25".
Condition is good.
This is a lovely well made vintage brooch.
