This is a beautiful 15" tall antique German bisque shoulder head doll with black headband. This charming child doll was most likely made by Alt Beck and Gottschalck circa 1860s-1870s. She has an uncommon hairstyle with bangs in front that form a center peak on the forehead, and a mound of soft curls in back contained by the headband. She has an antique body of pale pink cloth and bisque lower arms. Her antique clothing consists of cotton pantaloons, chemise and petticoat, tan stockings with red banded tops, heeled leather shoes, and a red wool check dress with lace at the neck and capped sleeves.
Condition: The shoulder head is in good condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. The dark smudge over her right eye that is visible in some photos was dirt that I removed. She does have a very very slight cheek rub to her cheek color. There is a tiny finger tip chip to one finger on her right hand. Her stockings have holes. Her shoes are not in good condition and are missing buckles and ties - but at least she has shoes.
She is a very sweet early child doll, looking for a new place to call home.
