This is a beautiful 16" tall all original circa 1860s -1870s German china head spill curl model doll made by Alt Beck & Gottschalck. The spill curl hairstyle is molded to have long ringlets that spill down onto the upper shoulders. There is also a molded headband and feathered wisps of hair painted around the face. She has her original cloth body with china lower arms and legs. Her original clothing consists of chemise, pantaloons, petticoat and silk dress in a tiny black and white check print trimmed with red velvet ribbon, self ruffles, and lace at the neck. The only addition to her dress is the band of black wool fringe trim and red satin ribbon around the bottom of the skirt, because the last tier of her dress had shattered away.
Condition: No damage to the shoulder head. Shoulder head has been reattached to the body with newer sew tabs, needed because the head was loose. Her right finger tip looks like it is chipped but glaze covers that spot so this is a defect in the original manufacturing. Minor wear to black color on back of head and on she tips.
She is a little beauty, with a less common hairstyle.
