This is a charming little 10.5" tall German bisque shoulder head doll made by Hertwig. She is one of Hertwig's bonnet head series. The head is marked with size number 4 on the back. She has a pale yellow molded bonnet with a pleated ruffle. She has simple bisque lower arms and a typical German kid leather body with cloth lower legs. One cloth upper arm has been restored. She also has a bit of damage to the cloth toe of her left foot. She is dressed in a nice set of antique clothing consisting of socks, petticoat, and velvet dress with wide lace collar.
I have opened up the leather top of the body to examine the shoulder head, and will leave it that way for easy examination.
This is a nice example of Hertwig's line of dolls circa early 1900s.
Offers considered, except on Red Tag sale items and on items with final reductions.
