This is a charming early edition circa 1901 or earlier of the children's story book Adventures of a Brownie by MIss Mulock. This hardcover book has an attractively decorated cover in an art Nouveau manner with silver scrolls and lotus blossoms over the spin and half of the sides and further floral pattern over the other half. This 147 page book has lovely black and white illustrations. There is no publication date. It was published by H. M. Caldwell Co. publishers of New York and Boston.
Condition is good for age. There is an inscription in a child's handwriting "To Anna From Maude Heckert June 25 - 1901 Red Oak Iowa". Small stain inside back cover. One page in the middle has a notch out of it that doesn't effect the text or any illustrations. Edge wear on spine and slight fading on spine.
This sweet little child's book measures 4" x 6" x .625".
