This is an elegant antique necklace and earring set featuring round painted porcelain plaques depicting beautiful Victorian ladies. The necklace setting is gilded brass. The earring wired are gold filled. The porcelain plaques are separated by large round faceted amethyst glass stones. There are 6 ladies on the necklace and 1 on each of the earrings.
The necklace measures 20" long with a center drop of 2.5". Each plaque is .875" in diameter. The earrings measure 2.25" from the top of the hook to bottom.
Condition: There is some wear tot he facets of the purple glass stones. There are some setting prongs missing from around the settings that hold the porcelain plaques, but they are still held securely. In my opinion this necklace has most likely been altered from an original form. It was probably a choker necklace originally, and someone removed 2 plaques to make the earrings and added the extender chain to the remaining necklace. there are also 2 unattached set amethyst stones that come with.
I think this set is either French or Czech made. It is quite the statement piece.
