This is an unusual antique Victorian period porcelain brooch depicting a clown such as Pierrot playing a guitar like stringed instrument. The simple bezel setting is gilded brass and has an old fashioned C clasp closure on back. The porcelain plaque is marked on the back G F. The fanciful instrument the clown is playing resembles a guitar but has 2 sound holes.
This brooch measures 2" x 1.375".
Condition is good. Under magnification I can detect only minimal wear to the figure.
The subject matter is quite uncommon in this form. The clown stands out well against the dark background.

Sleigh bells ringing. Are you listening. Snow is glistening. Walking in a winter wonderland.
