This is a charming 18" tall circa early 1900s home made cloth boy doll with blue wool suit and embroidered face. This fellow has a pleasant smiling face and a light blush to his cheeks. He has stitched on brown wool hair in a pageboy style. His blue wool jacket and pants are stitched onto his stuffed cloth body. His arms and legs are jointed at shoulders and hips. He carries a brown cotton satchel bag slung across his shoulder, and black oilcloth shoes.
Condition: There are a few small moth holes in his suit. His wool yarn hair is made from 2 different colors of yarn, as though the maker ran out of one and completed with the other. His satchel is missing a button. The sole of one shoe has come loose.
I wish I knew this doll's story. He is quite unique. He reminds me of Johnny Appleseed.
