This is a mysterious 22" tall antique doll with carved wood shoulder head and arms. She is purported to have come from Norway, though the carving of the head reminds me of German caved wood dolls. She has a firmly stuffed cloth body. Her antique clothing consists of red stockings with many holes, black leather shoes with splits on one sole seam, pantalettes in white cotton, black wool skirt with shreddy silk border trim, a black silk apron, striped wool blouse, velvet cape, and fancy black beaded bonnet. The ties on the bonnet match the ties of her apron.
Condition: The wooden shoulder head is severely worn with no paint remaining, if there ever was paint, and a few worm holes.
Despite her very worn face, blank without painted details, I find her homely appearance very appealing. I hope you will too.
