This is a fine 12.5" tall early antique creche figure man Magi doll with wax head and jointed wood body. His solid wax head is that of a young man with a long mustache. The torso, legs and lower arms are wood. The knees are jointed. The wooden lower arms are attached to the torso by wire wrapped in linen tow fibers. He is dressed in a long rose brocade silk robe with green silk front panels and metallic braid trim. Underneath the robe he is wearing gold silk trousers and shirt. The elaborate costume makes me suspect that he was meant to represent one of the Magi.
Condition: There is some paint loss and superficial wear acceptable for age and type.
This fine fellow is ready to pose for you in your early creche display.
