This is a fine mid century modern vintage sterling silver Roman glass pendant and necklace chain. The pendant features a large piece of salvaged ancient Roman glass that has been set within a simple oval bezel collar and further framed by an offset outer oval with hand hammered texture. The back of the pendant has both pendant loop and brooch back with older style roll over safety clasp. It is marked 925 for sterling silver, plus maker's markings that look like SA with an overlaid arch, followed by another symbol that looks like a C with an infinity symbol inside. The chain is a later addition. It is an hefty 18" decorative sterling silver chain that is marked QGI 925 ITALY next to the clasp.
The total weight is 34.7 gr. The chain is 18" long and a little over .125" wide. The pendant measures 1.5" x 2". The glass within measures 1.125" x 1.5".
Condition is good.
The aged patina of the Roman glass piece is the highlight here.
