This is a fine Victorian period Etruscan Revival style turquoise in 800 silver buckle brooch. The brooch is in the form of a round buckle, but is actually a brooch. The outer circular ring holds 21 small turquoise cabochon stones in pinched collet settings. Between the stones is wire work decorations, and the ring is framed by twisted wire braid on each side. The back of the brooch has a partial stamped mark reading 80, indicating 800 grade silver and tested to confirm. There is an old fashioned T hinged pin stem and C clasp.
This brooch is 2" in diameter. It weighs 8.4 gr. The turquoise stones are each about 2mm x 3mm.
Condition is good with expected patina of age.
This handsome brooch could be worn by man of woman. I can see it as a mans kilt pin or on a woman's scarf.
