This is an elegant mid 20th century Japanese sterling silver brooch set with 17 cultured pearls in shades of creamy white to blue gray. The pearls are high quality and range in size from 6mm - 8mm. The brooch is marked on the back SILVER, and tests for silver content of at least sterling grade. The style and composition and marking are consistent with the best quality Japanese pearl jewelry produced circa 1940s-1950s, and they typically used a higher grade 980 silver. The back of the brooch has a typical pin back with roll over safety clasp.
This brooch weighs 21.85 gr. It measures 2" x 2" x .75"
