This is a lovely example of Victorian period black mourning jewelry made from pressed horn in the form of an open winged butterfly. The butterfly is quite detailed and realistic. The back of the brooch has a brass pin back with simple C clasp. You can see evidence on the back of how the material was molded too.
This brooch measures 1.875" x 1.75" and is .25" thick.
Condition is good.
