This is a very fine 1870s -80s bisque, so-called parian, 26" tall girl doll with braided bun on top of her head and pierced ears. She is clearly marked with Kling model number 223 followed by size number 10 ont he back of the shoulder plate. She has an antique commercially made cloth body with leather lower arms. I think her sewn on leather boots and striped stockings might be later replacements, but very well done. Her antique clothing consists of white cotton chemise, pantaloons and petticoat, topped by a 2 piece brown and white cotton print matching blouse and skirt.
Condition: The shoulder head is in good condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. Some color loss to tip of nose, but no damage there. Lower legs may be skillfully made replacements.
This is an uncommon Kling model.
