This is a beautiful Victorian period Austro-Hungarian brooch in lightly gilded 800 silver and set with garnets and turquoise stones. The brooch is unmarked but metal tests positive for silver content below sterling grade and is estimated to be 800 silver. The back has a T hinged pin stem and C clasp, plus a safety chain and pin.
Condition is good. I note that this brooch appears to have been a clasp originally that was converted into a brooch during the Victorian period.
This brooch weighs 16.6 gr. It measures 1.625" x 1.375".
I love the Renaissance Revival look of these gem set Austro-Hungarian pieces.
