This beautiful antique brooch is made from off white creamy porcelain in imitation of carved ivory, including the grain pattern and a detailed rose in high relief. The rose is framed by 6 leaves and a low relief branch. The setting is sterling silver and is marked SILVER. It has a simple pin stem and old fashioned C clasp. the porcelain plaque has a mold number on the back 7762 over 55.
This large brooch measures 2.25" in diameter.
Condition: The center rose petals appear to have a few edge chips but this is very difficult to tell.
I am especially impressed by the delicate grain pattern that was created on the background in this piece. It is a brooch with subtle beauty, in a not so subtle size.
