This is a very unusual Arts & Crafts circa 1900 ring in 800 silver and featuring a nude man and nude woman supporting the green center chrysoprase stone. The ring is marked WLP9 on the outside of the band. The metal tests positive for silver content below sterling grade and is estimated to be 800 grade silver. The translucent oval green cabochon stone is further contained within a thin metal ring with white enamel that is barely visible. The stone is backed in brass, seen inside the ring.
This ring weighs 12.7 gr. It is a US size 9 1/4.
Condition: The metal shows signs of having been worn and there is some small loss to the white enamel ring around the stone. Figures are still distinct though and stone is in good condition.
I haven't been able to discover the maker of this distinctive ring. It is quite uncommon to find a pair of male and female nudes depicted in this manner.
