Vintage Huge BEATRIX Christmas Bells Rhinestone Pendant Necklace is a very unique and unusual piece for this designer company with the pendant portion measuring 6" Tall x 3 1/4" Wide. The bells and holly leaves are dotted with colorful rhinestones. The central bell is solid with raised ribbons and a poinsettia. The side belles are pierced with open work scrolls. A Triple line of twisted wire connects to the textured holly outline leaves. The chaining with spring ring clasp is 8" on each side for an overall wearable length of 17" in addition to the 6" pendant height. Excellent quality with heavy and substantial cast work.
Beatrix was established by Nat Sugarman in 1946. In 1965 the firm's manager Leonard Mandell purchased the company placing their emphasis on holiday jewelry. Most of Beatrix pieces were small enamel figurals and Christmas Tree pins, which places this necklace in a league of its own. Beatrix was sold to Treasure Master in 1977 and closed in 1983.
