This voluptuous belle is part of a series by the German firm of Schafer and Vater of lovely lasses, clad in clinging chemises and black stockings, captured in a series of provocative poses. These pretty women in alluring undress are highly sought after by collectors. She is made of excellent sharp bisque and is beautifully modeled and detailed, from the waves in her flowing blonde hair to the folds of her chemise to the ribbing in her stockings. Her pretty face is delicately painted in soft colors, with one stroke blonde brows, pale blue eyes with black pupils and black and red lid lines. Her eyelids are deeply incised and her coral lips are parted in a seductive smile. The form-fitting chemise, which clings to her ample curves, has a yellow neckline with incised eyelet, trimmed by scattered raised slip beads. She is marked underneath with a freehand "12" in black. A similar figurine is pictured on my book, "Bawdy Bisques and Naughty Novelties: German Bathing Beauties and Their Risque Kin" on page 106. This naughty, but nice, nymph is 5.75 inches long. There are no breaks or repairs. There is some very slight wear on the cold-painted black of her stockings. There is a spot near her right temple where the reddish-blonde wash for her hair failed to fully cover her tresses and the artist painting her hair got a faint bit of color on the finger tips and palm of her left hand. These minor factory flaws are only visible only on close inspection and do not distract from her grace and beauty. (although they attests to her age and authenticity). Think how charming this curvaceous coquette would look in a dollhouse boudoir or even just lounging on shelf!
