This fantastic figural powder or trinket box features a flirtatious flapper in her brilliantly-colored beach pajamas and sun hat perched prettily on a rocky shore. Of excellent china, her slim figure and graceful pose are finely modeled and she is nicely decorated, from her pretty face to the realistic green and brown shading of her stony seat. Her left hand is pierced to hold an object and she has been provided with a vintage paper parasol. This bathing beauty on a boulder is as big as she is beautiful, at 5 inches long and 5.5 inches high. Although unmarked, she resembles powder boxes and flower frogs from the German company of Carl Scheiberg, which produced a series of bathing beauties and fashionably dressed flappers on similar stony seats. There is a small chip on the underside of her left hand, but it is only noticeable upon very close inspection and is hidden by the umbrella handle. Otherwise, this piece is in wonderful condition, with no breaks or repairs.
