This luscious lady dates from a time when curves were in fashion, and she has a lot of them! Of the finest bisque, this voluptuous bisque bathing beauty is by the German firm of William Goebel. She is exquisitely modeled, from the blonde wavy tresses peeking out from her bathing cap to the creases in her form-fitting bathing suit. Her face has intaglio eyes and full parted lips, her supple curves are superbly sculpted, and her fine bisque gives her a soft, rosy complexion. This sea-side siren is 5 inches long and 1.5 inches high. Underneath she is incised with the Goebel stylized crown over Goebel’s intertwined “G” and “W, ” and what appears to be "DEP 9933 2/0.”
This bathing belle is in excellent condition, with no breaks or repairs. There are some scattered faint tinges of color on her bathing suit and bonnet, as well as a bit of dark red tucked under her right hand that suggest that at one point her beachside attire had been cold-painted and the color has worn or washed away over time. Even if so, she looks wonderful in white.
