This diminutive doll is only 1.75 inches high (2 inches if you include her high headdress), but she is elaborately outfitted in a detailed Hungarian folk costume, ornately adorned with ribbons, gold braid, and sequins. The doll and outfit as as fresh as if they just came from the factory, thanks to the original box that protected them through nearly a century. She was once tied into the box, and you can still see part of the thread around her neck. The doll is entirely out of bisque and is jointed at the shoulders and hips. The box is stamped "Made in Hungary," but the doll is most certainly from German and was probably dressed and boxed in Hungary. She resembles the miniature all bisque dolls costumed in crochet by the German firm of of Carl Horn. The box has a little shelf wear, but the doll and her clothing are in excellent condition for her age. This marvelous miniature miss would be wonderful to display in a dollhouse playroom, in a miniature toy shop, as part of a doll's trousseau, or on the lap of some lucky antique doll.
