This pretty parasol is just what some fine French fashion needs to protect her porcelain complexion sunny days. Although just 11 inches long, this adorable umbrella opens and closes just like a human-sized version. The handle of the umbrella is wood, with a metal spokes and mechanism, as well as a round metal finial on the base of the handle. The fabric of the umbrella is a green taffeta, which peeks through the beautiful and delicate net lace that cover the top and drapes so elegantly around the edges. The mechanism of the umbrella works wonderfully and it is approximately 9 inches in diameter when opened. I believe the lace is antique and original, but think the green taffeta may be a vintage replacement. There are a couple of holes in the lace net over the top of the umbrella, but the rest appears to be intact. The little metal knob is slightly loose and the tiny nail holding it in place may need to be tightened. This parasol would be the perfect accessory for a doll's trunk or trousseau.
